Here are her stats:
Height: 29.25 in
Weight: 19 lbs 11.5 oz
Head Circumference: 18.5 in
She is increasingly obsessed with our electronics. Anytime the computer cabinet is open she stops everything she is doing and heads straight for it. She does the same thing anytime the laptop is open. One day Matthew went down to get the laundry and accidentally left the cabinet open and when he came back he found that E had pulled the keyboard down and was on top of it. She had opened up quite a few programs with her belly!
She started to give kisses to almost everything this month. She kisses her dolls, her hands, her feet, the couch, our feet and legs and even the windowsill. Every once in awhile she will also give us kisses on the lips, but most of the time she just pushes our faces away.
E still loves grabbing for anything in reach and recently glasses are one of her favorite things to grab for. I am always having to wipe smudges of my glasses these days!
She continues to be so observant and curious. Matthew and I often notice her watching us intently. She always wants to be a part of what is going on, even if it means just watching what's happening. Her curiosity means that I am always trying to figure out ways to prevent her from getting into things! She is always getting into the movies and pulling them off the shelf. We finally put some child locks on the kitchen cabinets so she would stop pulling everything out and crawling in.
E continues to move more and more. She has officially started to crawl more that scoot on her tummy. I think she finally figured out that she could get up to standing faster if she was already on her hands and knees rather than on her tummy. I am always happy to see her become more mobile, but it kind of makes me sad not to see her silly scoot anymore.
Speaking of crawling and pulling things off of shelves; every morning E starts the day off by combining her two favorite activities by crawling over to the shelf and pulling all of the toys and books off.
E loves books! She loves to turn the pages when we read to her. And after pulling everything off the shelves in the morning she often sits and flips through the books on her own.
She also has started to attempt transitioning from one surface to another while standing rather than sitting down and pulling herself back up. She takes quite a bit of encouragement at this point, but she is definitely becoming more confident on her feet.
This month E learned how to squint her eyes. During breakfast one morning we were eating grapes and I got a rather sour one that made my face scrunch up and I said, "Ohhh sour!" E thought that was pretty funny so I ate more grapes and did it a few more times. Then she tried to copy me by squinting her eyes. It was pretty funny. Sometimes as she tried she would end up blinking a lot and other times she got it perfectly and she would look so mischievous! It is so much fun to watch her learn and grow.
This month we were able to spend a little more time with our friends Kassy and Francisco. E has so much fun with them. She is always laughing at Francisco's faces and almost every time she sees him she will lean in and touch her forehead to his.
E continues to enjoy looking out the window and with her increased ability to stand up as well as her ever increasing height, she will often stand up at the window in the kitchen or her room and look at the snow or cars as they drive by.
Over the past few weeks we have noticed some dry patches on her skin, especially her back and decided to increase the amount of lotion we put on her. After consulting some family and the doctor we now lotion her in the morning and at night and are happy to say her dry patches have cleared up!
E continues to love baths and is now sitting in the tub without a chair! I'm sure she could do this before, but I was nervous to try it.
Her hair is getting so long. This month I was able to give her pigtails! She looks so big!
E spent more time with friends this month. My friend Janae gave birth to Baby L in late December so E and I went over for a visit. L is so tiny, it's hard to believe that E was just slightly bigger than her. We also spent some time with M and R. Anytime M sees E she runs right over to her and M's mom told me that they have made up a song about E that M loves to have sung to her everyday. We also spent time with some of Daddy's school friends; E played peek-a-boo with Caryn and gave lots of kisses to Amanda's sock monkey.
Daddy's birthday was during this month and E helped mommy decorate Daddy's closet.
Her 7th tooth started to come on this month. That makes 4 on the top and 3 on the bottom!
E is afraid of our white rolling chair. I've noticed that she refuses to stand at it and gets a little fussy if I try to sit her on the chair all by herself. I am certain that she is scared of it because of how unstable it makes her feel. If I even try to attempt to stand her at it, even when I'm stabilizing it, she immediately sits down.
Of course we had E's big Birthday Celebration this month. It is so fun to see her grow and learn! I'm excited to continue the adventure with another trip around the sun.
