Howell-ing Good Time

Today while I went to work Matthew went to the zoo with the Howell brothers and Laura. Laura is in the ward with us and she also watched the Howell's for a few days while their parents were away. Matthew went with because their wasn't enough room in one car to drive the boys and her girls. Laura works at the zoo so she was able to get everyone some behind the scenes adventures including feeding the polar bears and getting kisses from the sea lions!

Triathlon

Today Matthew and I participated in our first triathlon. We didn't individually complete the entire thing, but opted to create a relay with our friend Salem. We initially created the team with another friend, but she had something come up last minute and since Salem has lots of experience with triathlons and we needed someone who could swim in the open water, she volunteered! We had a lot of fun interacting with the other participants and switching off. E also had fun cheering everyone on! Another friend of ours, Amy, also participated for the first time, but she did it all on her own! I felt very proud of her and it made me really want to attempt to do the entire thing on my own next year.
After we finished the race we received pizza, fruit, chili, power bars and a glass cup with a Rochester Triathlon emblem on it. We also found out that our team came in 3rd place out of 13 teams!

Bluberries

For a few days over the next week Matthew and I have the opportunity to care for a family of 5 boys, the Howell boys to be exact! Today we decided to join some friends and go blueberry picking! All I can say is yummy!

Parade of Bikes

This weekend we went to the Primary Bike Parade at our church. Matthew and I teach Sunday School to the 4-5 year olds. It was fun to see them enjoying themselves! E and I helped with a craft making thank you posters for the police and firefighters as well as the assisted living facility that all participated in the parade and activities following. Matthew rode his bike with all the kids and took pictures of all the fun.
